The Rabblecast

As we continue to empty out the back log of episodes, we thought it prudent to skip ahead a couple episodes to give everyone an update on what's been going. We will release the other episodes, don't worry about that. This episode in particular has some important  updates that we wanted to share with everyone.

As to what those updates are, we'll let the episode speak for itself. If you have been wondering where we've been? You will find the answers within(Hey that rhymed). Jump on in and enjoy the show!

Once again, we continue to empty the back log of episodes recorded over the past couple of months. As luck would have it, today Netflix announced season 4 for Stranger Things. The Duffer brothers will be coming up with another nightmare scenario for the rag tag group of kids to overcome.

But first! We finally get a chance to let everyone know what we thought about season 3! Our thoughts, our reactions, and more! We also rekindle our conversation about streaming service and how the competition is beginning to get serious(Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, etc.).

In keeping in the same topic of conversation we also talk about the Area 51 raid(keep in mind this episode was recorded well before the actual "raid" took place). What started as a social media joke has now become a movement of sorts.

Although this episode is a bit behind as far as the content discussed, it's still fun to talk about the different movie experiences we had.

Doug went to watch Midsommar. From Director, Ari Aster best known for writing and directing Hereditary, as well as the short film The Strange Thing About the Johnsons. As many of you know, Doug is a big fan of all things Horror. We'll find out his thoughts on this and more.

Erik went to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home. The latest offering in the Disney/Marvel MCU slate of films. We get into some of the details of the film itself but try to refrain from spoiling anything for late movie go'ers.

All of this and a little nature walk. What more can you ask for?

"What are we chasing?" One of the many questions asked in this episode. We delve into more personal experiences and stories with this installment of the show. How much is enough? What can we do differently? Is it too late to start over?

If you're looking for pop culture news, movies, wrestling, comics, etc. This may not be the episode for you. If you enjoy our deep dives into the lives that we all lead, stick around, you might find some of this interesting.

We jump right in with old mall stories. Remember those weird Head Shops that were occasionally found in some malls? Black light posters, odd wizard and dragon statues, and of course... glassware. And the memories don't stop there.

From there we wander out to other areas of conversations: Pre-show prep habits, more of Doug's adventures at Kink events, comic books/movies, and much more!

We continue our conversation about shows wrapping up before they have been properly written to a close. More specifically, the HBO show, Deadwood which has returned with a movie on HBO GO/NOW streaming services.

From there our subject of discussion turns to the world of Professional Wrestling, once again. Do you miss the "Attitude Era" in WWE? When "F" bombs were occasionally dropped, crotch chops were a form a salute, and Vince McMahon didn't have to cater to a board room full of executives.

Also on this show, Doug tells the tale of going to a Deathmatch show(GCW Tournament of Survival) in Atlantic City, NJ!

HBO's mini-series, Chernobyl is a historical drama depicting the nuclear disaster of April 1986 and the unprecedented cleanup efforts that followed. Starring Jessie Buckley, Jared Harris, and Stellan SkarsgÄrd. The miniseries is based in large part on the recollections of Pripyat locals, as told by Belarusian Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich in her book Voices from Chernobyl.

It's over! It's finally over after 8 seasons. Well, 7 full seasons and a shortened 8th season. HBO's adaptation of George R. R. Martin's books has come to a divisive ending.

SPOILERS ahead if you haven't seen the end of Game of Thrones(Keep in mind this episode was recorded 5/22/19). We go over a bunch of the events that led to end of one of HBO's biggest shows to date. Who dies? Who lives? Who ends up ruling the land?

We also talk about other big shows that have had odd endings to their series. Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, St. Elsewhere... to name a few.

All of this and more!

Here we go again! This is our second movie commentary track. In honor of the 25th anniversary we sit down and watch the 1994 Cult Classic, The Crow. Starring, Brandon Lee, Rochelle Davis, Ernie Hudson, and Michael Wincott.

Created by James O'Barr, The Crow tells a gritty revenge story set in the Motor City. With a driving soundtrack and the mystique of Brandon Lee's on set death, The Crow became a standout film of 1994 with legions of fans to this day.

Enjoy the commentary!

Many of our shows are centered around current events, pop culture, or historical events. This episode in particular turns inward. We take a trip down memory lane for Doug and learn about some of his background and what led to so of his choices today.

From there we talk about a Grind Core band. We won't mention the name here because it is NSFW, but we do talk about the band and the track listing for one of their albums. Seth Putnam heads up this particular band, if that helps any. But again, we have to say, NSFW.

And then we talk about Christopher Thomas Knight aka The North Pond Hermit. We talk about his 27 year disappearance and what led to his capture in 2013.
