The Rabblecast (sports, pro wrestling, comedy, )

Like many of you out there, we recently watched WWE's latest PPV offering, SummerSlam 2014. We have results, reactions, and a general rundown of the card from that night as well as some of the fallout on the following Monday Night RAW. Who will be the next challenger to the WWE Title? Also, we have an update on Alberto Del Rio and what led to his release from WWE.

TNA Wrestling is once again exercising the idea of, "taking the good with the bad". Impact Wrestling has been given a new night to air on Spike TV, moving from Thursday night to Wednesday. Does this mean that the negotiations between Spike TV and TNA are going well? Also, Bully Ray is said to be done with TNA Wrestling as his contract recently expired over the weekend. Will TNA let Bully Ray leave so easily after all of the recent build up of Bully vs Dixie Carter?

Rabblecast Ep. 374 - WWE SummerSlam Card Rundown, Vince Russo Secretly Working With TNA

WWE's SummerSlam 2014 is set to be one of the biggest shows of the year. Can it live up to the hype? Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose is sure to be a crowd pleaser, so long as WWE doesn't pull the match like they did at the previous PPV. Another match on the card many are looking forward to is the long awaited rematch of Brock Lesnar vs John Cena. Can the WWE's "Top Guy" survive the onslaught from "The Beast Incarnate"? That's just two of the matches and one news items on this episode.

TNA's recent trouble with Spike TV has a new development in the form of, Vince Russo. It was recently revealed by Mr. Russo himself that he was consulting for TNA recently, but he was told to keep it a secret. Was this one of the contributing factors as to why Spike TV decided to not renew TNA's TV contract?

Rabblecast Ep. 372 -Danile Bryan Stops Burglar, TNA Impact Wrestling Canceled By Spike TV

Your humble show host, Hernandez ventures into the studio for another solo episode. (Bear with him, as he is practically talking to himself.)

The big news in the world of professional wrestling is the story of TNA's Impact Wrestling being canceled by Spike TV. Is it true? Does this mean the end of the number two wrestling company? Will TNA be able to find a new home for their weekly televised wrestling show?

Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan made headlines recently after returning home to find someone robbing his home. After returning from a recent appearance at San Diego Comic Con, the recovering WWE Superstar was able to subdue one of the suspects until local police arrived. (Who said wrestling isn't real?)

This is a solo show for your humble host, Hernandez. But that doesn't mean you don't get your pro wrestling news and rumors. In this episode, The Guatemalan Bulldozer covers the recent news in WWE regarding Jim Ross and CM Punk's contracts coming to their respective ends. Will we ever see either of these two in WWE again?

TNA Impact Wrestling is still showing their run of tapings from the Manhattan Center in NYC and they are fun to watch. The NYC fans know how to add that special something to a televised wrestling show. So much so, that TNA will be returning for another round of tapings in early August. Hernandez runs down the matches from the 7/17 show and recent happenings in TNA.

Rabblecast Ep. 370 - KENTA to WWE, Kurt Angle Dispels Rumors

We're back in the studio this week! On this week's slate:

WWE recently announced the signing of Japanese wrestler, KENTA to the WWE. KENTA is set to join the NXT developmental system in the very near future to begin training. WWE's Triple H had the following to say in a statement regarding the signing, "KENTA is an incredible performer who brings the crowd to its feet when he steps into the ring. WWE's signing of KENTA reflects our continued dedication to creating a diverse roster that appeals to our global fan base."

Newly "appointed" TNA authority figure, Kurt Angle commented about his upcoming contract renewal with TNA. "...I told them I need time to think about it." Angle also mentioned, "Because this next contract is going to be my last - whether WWE or TNA - this is it and where I'm going to retire." Kurt Angle has been talking about a WWE return for quite some time now. Can the two parties see eye to eye after years of being apart?

Rabblecast Ep. 369 - WWE Money in the Bank/RAW Fallout, TNA/Wrestle-1 News

WWE's Money in the Bank PPV was what many have come to expect from a WWE PPV. Excitement, surprises, and some questionable endings to more than one match. But all that led to a "reset" of sorts on the following Monday Night RAW. The anticipation of someone cashing in the "Money in the Bank" contract at any given time gave RAW a much needed boost. Not that it needed it though, with all the other great moments from this past RAW.

TNA and Wrestle-1 are continuing to help each other with announcements, upcoming shows, and the continued talent exchange. With so many "misses" on their home turf, maybe TNA can capitalize overseas in other markets. Time will tell if this recent partnership between TNA and Wrestle-1 makes any difference for either company.

Rabblecast Ep. 367 - WWE Cuts, TNA Slammiversary 2014, and More!

It came almost out of nowhere, but it is not uncommon for WWE to cut a small group of performers post Wrestlemania. As always the speculation runs rampant as to the exact reason why. The WWE Network under performing, the renewed NBC TV deal not being as big as WWE hoped it would be, and a few others.

TNA Wrestling was forced to change the main event of their recent Slammiversary PPV. This was due to Authority figure, MVP being injured during an overseas match. This resulted in two qualifying matches as Bobby Lashley took on Samoa Joe and Austin Aries battled Kenny King to see who would earn a spot in the three-way steel cage match against current TNA Champion, Eric Young.
